The various COGL events require a faithful army of volunteers to make them successful. If you are interested in volunteering, we would be honored to have you serve with us. COGL hosts catalytic events each year to connect Christian Leaders to each other. All of our events include intentional aspects of prayer and discipleship. We believe communication with God and with each other are keys to a healthy Body of Christ in our region. We limit our events to ensure unified participation and allow time and space for churches and organizations to continue doing the work to which they have been called. Check out all of our fellowship and equipping events and annual service event !
Annual City Service Event
Each year, COGL partners with local churches, organizations, businesses and government officials to reach out and serve in our community. Past events have included Food Drop (2009-11), Bless Fest (2013), and I Love My City Lansing (2014-Present). Our goal in these events is to provide a catalyst for people of good will and people of good faith to serve with various organizations in the area year-round for sustainable, positive change in our region. COGL holds 2 Summits per year – 1 between January and May and 1 in early September- which provide a unique opportunity for regional Christian leaders to network and explore ways to collaborate to Transform our city WITH Christ. Summits include a catered lunch, a time for celebratory worship and testimonies, networking activities, vision casting for the upcoming quarter, and a time of prayer and fellowship around the Word of God. The COGL Pastors’ Retreat is an opportunity for senior church leaders from the Tri-County area to join together for a time to relax, refresh, and strengthen relationships with one another. We greatly value the work the church leaders do in our region and know that it’s not easy to do alone. The retreat purposes to intentionally deepen relationships between pastors and increase authenticity, transparency, and vulnerability in their relationships, moving the pastors out of isolation. COGL puts on one unified conference every other year that is designed for Christian leaders to bring their leadership team, friends, ministry or business colleagues, to learn what discipleship looks like in their particular cultural context. COGL invites internationally respected Christian teachers to speak as a means to support the local Church in its role to equip the saints to do the work that God has prepared in advance for them (Ephesians 4:12).
